What Sports Are Doing to Spread Awareness About COVID-19

With the spread of COVID-19, people are looking to news organizations for information about the disease. As a result, Twitter followings for major news organizations have increased (see National Public Radio and the Wall Street Journal, pictured above). With the general focus shifting from sports and entertainment to news, what can sports do to help spread information? Below, find a few examples of superstars doing their part:

· Six-time NBA All-Star Steph Curry interviewing Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, for NowThis.

· The No. 1 Ranked Men’s Tennis Player in the world, Novak Djokovic, donated $1 million for medical equipment and held a virtual press conference to spread awareness of the disease.

· The NFL compiled a video of distinguished athletes that urged others to stay at home, highlighted the benefits of spending time with loved ones, and thanked healthcare workers for their work on the front lines.
